WHAT TO EXPECT
Thank you for considering our office! Your first visit with us establishes a baseline for your oral health. Below is a list of what you can expect during your new patient appointment:

Comprehensive Exam

Oral Exam & Oral Cancer Screening: A thorough examination teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, palate, and throat for signs of decay, gum disease, oral cancer, or abnormalities.

Periodontal (gum) probing: Measures gum pocket depths to assess gum health.

Bite and jaw evaluation: Check alignment, TMJ function, and signs of grinding/clenching.

Full Set of X-Rays

Bitewing X-rays: Detect cavities between teeth.

Peripheral X-rays: Show entire tooth (root to crown) for abscesses or bone loss.

Panoramic X-ray (if needed): Provides a full jaw view for wisdom teeth, bone structure, or pathology.

A Dental & Medical History Review
-
You’ll fill out forms covering:
-
Past dental work (fillings, crowns, etc.)
-
Medical conditions (diabetes, heart issues, pregnancy)
-
Medications (especially blood thinners or biophosphonates)
-
Allergies (latex, anesthesia)
-
If you have an artificial joint, you may need pre-medication (taking an antibiotic before your visit)

Discuss Any Concerns

Bring a list of issues (pain, sensitivity, cosmetic goals, bad breath, etc.).

The dentist will address each and explain findings.

Tips to Prepare

Arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork or fill it out online.

Bring insurance card (if applicable).

Bring picture ID.

After Your Visit

You will receive a treatment plan containing any recommended care with costs and priorities.

Schedule a cleaning with one of our hygienists.
